The shipping and handling of artwork has always been a problem. Many have ‘solved’ the problem by rolling paper works up and putting them in a heavy tube. Unfortunately, paper has a memory and will try to stay curved unless the framer re-rolls it in the other direction. We feel that to do this is just handing a problem off to someone else.
Our intension is to ship your artwork flat and insured against any mishap that may occur – we guarantee it. It will arrive flat and in perfect condition for framing or we will ship you a new one free of charge.
Your artwork is placed in a clear mylar envelope with it’s Certificate of Authenticity and is held in a cardboard folder that is then joined to a hardboard backing for strength and rigidity.
These materials and their use are expensive and time consuming but we feel they are essential to the safe arrival and enjoyment of your artwork. We also wish to keep that enjoyment affordable so any purchase over $200 ships for free*, while those under $200 will be charged a flat rate of $20 which covers about half of the shipping and handling costs.
If you have no need for the shipping materials, you are strongly encouraged to offer them to the framers as they can likely find further use for them in their business. Schools and art students are additional possibilities.
