Description
An Aspen rail fence becomes an abstract sculpture after a fresh snow and a small group of Black Capped Chickadees provides the animation as they search continuously for food. Small seeds, large seeds, insect eggs and cocoons – a Chickadee will eat it all or cache it in a secret location for when the need is upon them. They never stop moving and are actively foraging when others are roosting. This painting tries to capture a brief moment – a flick of the tail and they are gone.
